Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has helped to make independent, healthy farming sustainable. Now we offer you the Community Supported Bookstore (CSB)! By joining the St. Johns Booksellers CSB, you ensure a steady crop of books to change your world. As a member you'll receive new varieties and choice heirloom selections free each month and a 25% discount on everything else.  That is, for each month of your membership, you'll receive $35 in free books (a 5% savings), plus that discount on all other cash, cheque, or charge purchases.  Other benefits include free admission to upcoming ticketed events, first access to free advance reading copies of new books, and exclusive subscriber-only activities.

How does a CSB help us?

By becoming a CSB member you not only show solidarity with a family-owned, neighborhood business, but enable us to expand the way we serve and support this community. It is your regular support that allows us to stock your shelves with important books (even if they aren't on the NYT bestseller list!).  As a CSA does for farmers, our CSB will allow us a smoother, year-round cash flow instead of seasonal spikes and valleys.  Instead of waiting until close to December to bring in the fresh, juicy new crop, we can maintain a steady flow of good books.

Set your book budget and know that it's there for you!  Whether you're a book club reader or love to give books as gifts, a CSB share is books, guaranteed.  Plus you'll save on all your book purchases over your prepaid share.  And you'll consistently find a greater variety of good, new books on hand to inform and entertain you.  Shares also make great gifts for the readers in your world!

Just as real change comes about from sustained grassroots organizing and people joining together, we know it is the modest support from a broad range of people that will allow St. Johns Booksellers to thrive and grow. 

Subscriptions are limited to 20 full-year shares at $400 each.  Half-year shares are also available.  Upon subscription, you will receive a membership card that allows you to track your balances, and we will maintain matching records in the bookstore for your convenience.
